What can a Figma AI agent do?
A Figma AI agent makes the file readable without opening it. Cedric looks up a design file's pages, frames and layers, including the text content and the styling details, and lists a team's projects and the files inside each, with names and last-modified dates. He reads a file's version history and compares what changed between saved versions, so the answer to what moved this week is a list, not a screenshot hunt. Where the plan allows it, Cedric also reads the design tokens and variables defined in a file.
Exports are the second job. Cedric exports images of specific frames or components as PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF at chosen scales, which is how a frame ends up in a Slack thread, a ticket or a doc without a designer being asked. He also browses the shared component, component set and style libraries a team or file has published, so the thread can ask which button variant is the current one and get the name back.
Comments are where the file talks. Cedric reads and posts comments on a file, replies in threads, and resolves or deletes comments, each write proposed before it happens. He can fetch the connected account's profile and set up notifications for file activity, so a channel hears when the file changes. What he does not do is design: the API is largely read-only for design content and cannot create or edit artwork. For the reading side of the project work, that is enough.

Checkout redesign, last edited yesterday by Amira. Three saved versions since Monday: the Payment frame gained an Apple Pay row, and the error text changed from "Card declined" to "Your card was declined, try another". Exported: Payment at 2x, PNG, attached. Open comments: 4, two on Payment (one asks whether the total should include VAT), one on Review, one on the empty state. Proposed: reply to the VAT thread with "Yes, totals include VAT, see the pricing spec" and resolve it.

Design edits happen in Figma. The connection reads files, exports frames and handles comments. The artwork itself is changed in Figma, by your designers.
Comments and heavy exports are rate-limited. Figma throttles heavy file and image requests, and a posted or deleted comment is visible to everyone in the file, so both are proposed and wait for your yes.
